So just going to stick with using the mouse for Freespace and play it in Windows. No wonder linux doesn't have any real foothold in the desktop OS market. Plus it choked trying to do more then 1 process at at time, was trying to browse the web while it was downloading and installing some software, and it would choke where I couldn't do anything and just had to sit and wait for it to finish.
